This roadmap helps to establish a clear plan to achieve our first business goal:

  1. Goal Definition:
    • Clearly state your first business goal, specifying the desired outcome, timeline, and any quantifiable metrics.
      • Obtain the first client for the garden design business through organic marketing efforts, without relying on word of mouth from previous clients or contacts, to demonstrate the effectiveness of our marketing strategies in generating leads and driving new business growth.

      • For CL:
        • Make a list of your top competitors (start off with 10), including local landscape and garden design businesses in Hampstead and neighbouring areas.
        • Analyse their websites, looking at their content and overall messaging.
        • JL to assess their SEO performance by examining their keywords, rankings, maybe use SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.
        • JL to review their social media profiles to understand their engagement, content strategy, and target audience.
        • Compare their service offerings with yours, identifying any gaps in your services or unique selling points they possess.
        • Look out for any niche markets, or specialised services they cater for to that could be potential opportunities for your business.
        • Assess the quality of their testimonials on their websites and social media profiles.
        • Find out if any of your competitors mention about pricing.
        • Find out what everyone tries to shy away from talking about.
    • Identify opportunities and challenges within the market.
  3. Branding and Positioning:
    • Develop a unique selling proposition (USP) that sets you apart from competitors.
    • Establish your brand identity, including visual elements, tone, and messaging.
    • Position your company as the go-to provider of bespoke garden and landscape design services in Hampstead.
  4. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes online and offline tactics.
    • Plan for search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, social media, and other digital marketing efforts.
    • Consider partnerships, events, and other offline marketing initiatives.
